Julie and Joe's Wedding - Making Every Moment Count

Congratulations to Julie and Joe, married on May 30, 2009, at The Citizen Hotel. They made the most of their vintage glam and Old Hollywood theme by capturing their moments with Alan Silva at Artistic Imagery and Jen Stewart Photography.

Looking for creative ways to document your wedding? Try Julie and Joe's idea of involving guests in documenting the night with the use of a photo station. Also, check out their wedding videos...or should we say box office hits!

Ask Harmony

Q. I'm interested in creative lighting for my reception. Do you have any suggestions for incorporating this into my décor?

A. Lighting design is becoming an essential part of wedding and event décor. It directly affects the mood and enhances the ambiance of every occasion.

For example, pin spot lighting is a perfect solution to enhance your tables, centerpieces, exhibits, and cakes. By dimming the main lights and pin spotting important aspects of your event, you obtain the dramatic look your event deserves.

In the past, you'd have to hire an expensive lighting company; however, now it is much more accessible and affordable! More and more disc jockeys and florists are providing lighting to accent a reception room or ceremony site. This includes ceiling designs, uplighting, monograms and pretty much anything you want!

An Enchanted Evening

Sean & Kelly Wedding - Oct. 3, 2009

Congratulations to Sean & Kelly! Their enchanted-forest theme was completed by the amazing lighting provided by Extreme Productions. The butterfly on the ceiling mirrored the butterflies in the centerpieces and on the cake, transforming the space into a magical night to be remembered.

Q. I would love to have my wedding at the Citizen Hotel but I have problem. My fiance and I are both Vietnamese. In our culture it is tradition to have a family style asian cuisine served. We have an estimated 200+ guests atteding. Is there any way your hotel can accomodate that or have the ability to provide asian cuisine?

A. Thank you for your inquiry! Our chefs are well versed in all types of cuisine and flexible to create a menu specific to your needs. Banquet Chef Michael Jackson, in particular, has past experience in Asian style cuisine. He would definitely be able to work with you and create a menu reflective of your heritage and taste.

Whether it be a preparing a particular cuisine, carrying out ceremonial traditions or sharing couples’ interests through favors, place cards or beverages, I believe it is important for a wedding to represent the bride and groom.

Here at The Citizen Hotel and Grange Restaurant, we really do believe in customizing items to make your wedding uniquely you.

Galvez & Pascual Wedding - July 11, 2009

Congratulations to Nicole and Treb!

From the Huppa-style alter, to the color coordinated candy bar and sparkler lined bride and groom departure, the wedding was beautifully designed by Catriona of Arcularius Events. Also, photos were taken by the talented Lisa Richmond. She captured their emotion and personalities perfectly. The beautiful center pieces were created by Ambience Floral Design.

Our favorite part of the night occurred when the groom, groomsmen and father of the groom broke into choreography upon entering the reception room with music coordinated by DJ Matt Brys of Extreme Productions. It wasn’t videotaped, but if it was caught on film, it would have been a hit on You Tube!

Also, take a look at their "thank you" picture. This is a creative way to put your personal touch on thank you cards!
